Walking through Prague

I had a couple of days off work this week, and I spent the extra free time wandering the streets of Prague. I love taking in the city by exploring and meandering. : )

Today, I started my walk near the Vltava River….

cafe.

The restaurants along this part of the riverside have a great view of the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle.

Later, I tried this traditional Czech/Slovak bread. It’s a good, quick snack – perfect for my walk. I loooved the taste of cinnamon.

Then I walked up and down these streets, near the castle…

one way.
downhill.

…where I came across this bakeshop selling goodies through the window!

windowsill.

Where did you walk today? : )

  1. I’m enjoying very much your journal in images. It’s great to see new places (or old ones – I’ve been to Budapest) through your eyes. I have an amendment… 🙂 What you name “traditional Czech bread” is, as far as I know, a Szekler pound cake named Kürtös Kolács. And I like it a lot, too. 🙂

    • Yes, thank you for that info! 😀 Here we call it “trdelník.” And thanks for checking out the blog – I’m so glad you enjoy it. 🙂

  2. 🙂 I like this post 8and the blog in general) But this particular one made me remember this beautiful city. Thank you for the pictures and thank for sharing…

  3. Oh.my.gosh. Trdelnik! That’s the first thing I ever ate when I visited Prague and it was soooo good. Maybe it was because I was starving and exhausted after a day-long bus ride and it was raining, but this post just reminded me how awesome that stuff was. Just a little jealous :).

  4. I love your pictures. You are a very good photographer. I’m sorry to hear about your mother’s health. I wish you all the best. I truly enjoy reading about your travels 🙂
